New singers welcome

Chora Nova continues its 11th season with rehearsals for the winter quarter beginning January 10. Repertoire for the quarter is Dvorak Mass in D Major and Rheinberger Stabat Mater in C Minor, Op. 16. Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale 2016/2017 Season

The Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale, directed by Elena Sharkova, has become known in the Bay Area and beyond for its eclectic mix of concert programs: from choral-orchestral masterworks to contemporary, jazz, and folk-inspired compositions. As the chorus-in-residence for Symphony Silicon Valley, Chorale performs regularly with world-renowned vocal and instrumental soloists and conductors on stage of the historic California Theater in San Jose.

YWCP's Young Women's Chorus Seeking Girls Who Love to Sing, Grades 7-12

Do you know a young woman in grades 7-12 who loves to sing? The Young Women's Choral Projects of San Francisco is holding auditions for our Young Women’s Chorus! Auditions will be held on Saturday May 14 & Sunday June 5 for the 2016-2017 seasons. YWC meets on Wednesday night from 6:30-9pm and Sundays from 3-6 pm and is focused on creating an exciting and interactive community. Here young women learn more challenging and advanced vocal techniques, sight-reading, and performance skills through the Kodály teaching method.

Marin Baroque chamber choir seeking all voices; solo opportunities

Emerging-professional chamber choir of 16 voices with outstanding Baroque instrument orchestra; well-attended concerts. Looking for sopranos, altos, countertenors, tenors, and baritones/basses. Professional choral tenor needed in SF

The St Monica Choir rehearses every Thursday and sings for a 10:30am Mass every other Sunday. This chamber choir specializes in polyphony. Other styles, particularly 20th and 21st C works are also performed. St Monica Church is an unknown gem in the Richmond District of San Francisco. The successful candidate will be a strong choral singer, good reader and a colleague who works well with both professionals and amateurs. The St Monica Choir is directed by Music Director Matthew Walsh.
