Collage Vocal Ensemble 2015-2016 Season Auditions
Auditions to be held Sunday, August 23rd, 2015, 10am-1pm in Los Altos, CA
Individual auditions on other dates/times can be arranged with the director if needed. All voice parts will be considered. Successful applicants will have a strong background in choral singing, good sight-reading skills, and a sincere interest in exploring a broad range of musical styles and types. An appreciation for a casual but dedicated choral ensemble experience and a good sense of humor would also make you a good fit for Collage!

Celebrating its Tenth Anniversary Season, sixty-voice Chora Nova has become an important part of the San Francisco Bay Area’s cultural fabric. Our singers come from all parts of the San Francisco Bay region and from all walks of life. This diverse group has grown in skill and quality under the leadership of Dr. Paul Flight, who has been our Artistic Director since its inception.

Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale auditioning new singers for 30th season.
The Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale, directed by Elena Sharkova, has become known in the Bay Area and beyond for its eclectic mix of concert programs: from choral-orchestral masterworks to contemporary, jazz, and folk- inspired compositions. As the chorus-in-residence for Symphony Silicon Valley, Chorale performs regularly with world-renowned vocal and instrumental soloists and conductors on stage of the historic California Theater in San Jose.

Through a Kodály music curriculum, choristers learn basic vocal techniques, sight- reading and performance skills. They sing unison and two-part repertoire in many languages presenting 2-4 public performances yearly and rehearsing twice a week Wednesdays and Sundays from 4 – 5:30pm. The Young Women’s Chorus is YWCP’s premiere performing ensemble and is comprised of singers who exhibit excellent vocal technique and exceptional musicianship skills. YWC sings challenging choral music for women’s voices, emphasizing classical compositions from all eras, and including world music, jazz and Broadway selections. All members of YWC take voice lessons from a professional voice teacher in small classes every other week. Led by Artistic Director, Dr.
Through a Kodály music curriculum, choristers learn more advanced sight-reading, treble clef note names and basic rhythms, as well as a free vocal production music theory, ear training, vocal technique, and performance skills. They learn to sing in two-, three- and four-part harmony with repertoire in many styles and languages. This ensemble begins advanced level repertoire and performs 4-6 times a year and meets twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays from 4 – 6pm.
