Auditions include singing a prepared piece and short simple sight-reading. Please bring either a solo vocal work, or an excerpt from a choral work to sing. Baroque repertoire is preferred but other historical eras will be acceptable as well. The choir seeks singers with strong musical skills and the capacity to sing with a minimum of vibrato.
Those auditioning will be asked to vocalize, sing a brief solo of their choosing (aria, art or folk song, show tune, etc.) and sight-read choral selection provided. Auditions are by appointment with Artistic Director, David Morales. Chorale rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons in Oakland, occasionally on Tuesday evenings in Lafayette.

The Parish Choir, a mixed semi-professional adult choir sings a diverse repertoire ranging from chant, Renaissance and Baroque motets to Anglican anthems, shaped-note music, and newly composed sacred works. Weekly Thursday rehearsal, 7-9 p.m. You will be requested to sing a prepared piece of any style that shows your ability and musicality.
Auditionees should contact John Geist for an audition time. Section leaders are expected to have their parts performance ready before rehearsing and/or performing to allow the director an opportunity to shape the dynamic and character of the phrase while he is conducting. The volunteer members follow the professional section leader leads.
