Tactus Seeks New Director

SFEMS Affiliate Tactus (tactus-sf.org), a 12–16 voice Renaissance chamber chorus in San Francisco, is seeking a Music Director to lead the chorus at weekly rehearsals and three performance weekends per year.

This is a part-time, year-round, volunteer position. Some financial support may be available, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. The candidate must be available for evening rehearsals (currently on Thursdays) and one or two Saturday workshops in San Francisco or the East Bay for each concert cycle. The Music Director reports directly to the membership.

San Francisco Lyric Chorus Summer 2018 Auditions: Corigliano, Whitacre, Gjeilo

The San Francisco Lyric Chorus invites singers to join us for our Summer 2018 Season, Song of the Universal. We will sing American composer John Corigliano’s Fern Hill, a setting of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas’ reminiscences of his childhood visit to his aunt’s farm, and his musings on his own life. Fern Hill is one of the most important American choral works of the 20th century. We also will sing two works by Eric Whitacre, one of America’s most popular contemporary composers: Five Hebrew Love Songs and This Marriage.
