The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra (TACO) Celebrates its 15th Anniversary with the World Premiere of Nancy Bloomer Deussen’s Final Orchestral Work in a Multimedia Presentation, Documentary, and Tribute Concert

Presented by Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra

Composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen with Founder and Conductor of The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra Cathy Humphers Smith

The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra (TACO) is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a special tribute to the late internationally renowned local woman composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen on March 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the De Anza College Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) in Cupertino.

This special event will feature the world premiere of Shoreline to Skyline, the final orchestral work by the late Nancy Bloomer Deussen, commissioned specifically for TACO. Also premiering is the film Silence to Sound, offering an intimate look into Deussen’s creative process and the landscapes that inspired her music. Local environmental groups, including MidPeninsula Open Space, Green Foothills, and NASA, will share insights about these landscapes.

There will also be guest performances of Deussen’s selected chamber works, as well as the Central Coast Piano Concerto, performed by New York pianist Ron Levy and conducted by Maestro Anthony Quartuccio. A reception will follow the concert.

Join us in honoring Nancy’s music and the incredible community TACO has fostered over the past 15 years.
