Join us as the Ross McKee Foundations celebrates the life of Robin Sutherland, the principal pianist of the San Francisco Symphony for 45 years who passed away on December 18, 2020. The musicians include several of Robin’s closest friends and colleagues who’ve selected repertoire with a direct connection to him, including pianists Christopher Basso, Elizabeth Dorman, Keisuke Nakagoshi, and Marc Shapiro with additional performances by Jack Van Geem and Daniel Hallett on marimbas. With a line-up of Robin’s favorites like Bach’s Partita in B-flat major and Beethoven’s Sonata in F major, Op. 54, lesser-known works like Bolcom’s Graceful Ghost Rag, and a whimsical twist on the Goldberg Variations arranged for two marimbas, this concert promises to be one Robin wouldn’t have missed.
