I was born in SF, grew up in Santa Cruz, and feel very fortunate to have a career in the Bay Area, playing and teaching flute. I perform with ensembles of all sizes: orchestras such as Oakland East Bay Symphony, Fremont Symphony, Marin Symphony, Pacific Chamber Symphony, SF Ballet, SF Opera; also for large choral groups like SF Choral Society and SF Gay Men's Chorus. I am a member of the Bellavente Wind Quintet, which released the CD "Frogs and Friends, Music and Stories for Children," in 2011, winning the Parent's Choice Approved Award. In 2012-13, SF Symphony will distribute the CD in all SFUSD elementary schools to teachers of grades 3 -5 as part of the Symphony's Adventures in Music Program. Bellavente will perform 145 in-school concerts for all of those students, in our 5th season on the AIM roster of ensembles. I've also played in the pit for numerous Broadway shows here in SF: Phantom, Miss Saigon, Les Miz, Lion King, and recently the almost 2-year run of Wicked.
