Emerson McAlister

Hi there! My name is Emerson. I'm a 26 year old transgender man that has been singing since I was 10. I originally trained and performed as a soprano, receiving a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and an MM from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in Vocal Performance. I've performed in Germany, Austria, and all over the Bay Area. My past roles include Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Governess in The Turn of the Screw, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, etc. Now, as a man, I've begun to sing roles like Papageno in Die Zaberflöte and Leporello in Don Giovanni. However, I perform mostly musical theater these days. My roles have included Utterson in Jekyll and Hyde, Bert Healey in Annie, and Cliff in Cabaret. I specialize in transgender voices/students and love to help them along their voice journey.
