Cynthia K. Black leads a diverse career performing as a baroque violinist and violist across the country with ensembles like the American Bach Soloists, Apollo’s Fire, Les Délices, and the Washington Bach Consort. She loves playing music from all time periods from Medieval through the Romantic era and especially enjoys the intimacy of chamber music. She recently completed a D.M.A. at Case Western Reserve University in Historical Performance Practice as a student of Julie Andrijeski and holds modern viola degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music in the studios of Lynne Ramsey and Robert Vernon where she also studied Suzuki pedagogy with Kimberly Meier-Sims.
