Pacific Musical Society's annual competition — the organization's 102nd — is coming up on May 26 in the San Francisco Conservatory, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. The schedule calls for instrumental performances from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; pianists from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and vocalists from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
